Visual Novels I Like A Lot
Crescendo by Googs (Abandoned)

Rating 6/10 (posted on 13/07/25)
Well, you're Will, a college student that just got a scholarship to the Amadeus Institute (As the name implies, it's a very "prestigious" music university). You have three short routes with the three other characters, but I only went through Lawrence (who is a lion. Shocking, I know). So that's who I'll be talkiǹg (writing?) about.
He's the classic "Live Laugh Love" through the Pain(tm) (crushing loneliness due to his family's status) mixed with an unhinged theater kid. I mean... He literally greets you by jumping down from a hole in a ceiling, you don't really get much more theatric than that!
Well... After getting sent to the headmaster (for reasons previously discussed), he just kinda diseppears from the building (he's really on one of the rooftops). Will cheers him up and piky promises to be his friend...
So he does the only natural thing and stays up until 4am using a kitchen to bake Will a LOT of pastries and hand delivers them to his room (All while barely staying awake) and paying for a shit ton of food for Will. After some trouble in the academy, the VN just ends.

But ARRRGH!! It had so much potential but got suddenly abandoned... I just wish it'd get a continuation sometime in the future. I'm rating it lower because of my frustration with it >:/
There are some ohter routes that I haven't gone through, but just, meh.
Read it hereDawn Chorus by Keo Blau, Haku, Branny, Deffie, and Roborak (Ongoing)

Rating 9.5/10 (Posted on 14/07/25)
Honestly? This one of the best visual novels (if not *the* best) I've ever read. It has great music that fit the mood of every scene (as I mentioned in the Music section), and the characters are incredibly well written. They genuinely make you feel bad for what they're going through, angry at their actions, or even angry at *them*.
The general writing is also really good, and touches on some deep topics, just don't let the "wholesome" bit in the description fool you :p.
I absolutely recommend reading through this!

Dawn Chorus Soundtrack (volume 1)

Rating 8/10
As the name implies, it's the first volume of soundtrack for the visual novel Dawn Chorus. Very good atmospheric tracks. The visual novel itself is very good too, but I'll leave more on that in the VNs section of this page. This album *really* represents both the cold winter and the warmth of sitting in front of a fireplace.

Blossom City: Autumn Original Soundtrack

Rating 10/10
I know, I know. "Another visual novel?" you may ask. Well, yes! It's very, very good. To the point where the credits scene is etched in my brain thanks to its theme. Imo it perfectly captures the feeling of Autumn and the weather getting colder. (It's thankfully starting to warm up where I live as of writing this). I absolutely recommend you at least listen to my favorite tracks. (Because of course I have the best taste in music /j)
Favorite tracks:
-
A Bit Closer (Credits Theme)
-

-

Such Is The Joy of Our Reunion (Boss Theme)

It's great! It's hard to change songs when the last part comes in and I just end up putting this on loop for a while.

This was honestly one of the few stories that made me tear up. The characters and locations are... incredibly memorable. The story still sticks with me YEARS later, and the soundtrack... Oh, the soundtrack! EVerything is just... so peak...

Rating 9/10
Good pixel art, great story, even better music. Act 5 released a few years ago and I just...... LOVE it (GO LUCKY! btw). It (Act 5) helped me through a tough time, all while listening to fantastic music! I 100% recommend it. (I took 1 point off because I'm not good at rhythm games lol)

A nice platform fighting game. Has pretty diverse character movesets. I like it, but I stopped playing it because I didn't have anyone of equal skill level nearby enough to have a decent online game :/

I played the free Flash version many years ago (around 2015? I think), and it's a very, very charming game (even though there are some aspects that haven't aged well). You start in a quaint village after a very important jewel (that will summon cat gods if three of them are brought together), you find some party members, and RPG-ness ensues. (Btw the music is v good :3)
I'd still say it's worth a playthrough (or two, with new game+ and its extra content). (((Also the curscenes have a very good cutout style)))
Get it here!A Hat In Time

Rating: 7.5/10
A pecckin' cute 3D collectathon! It has very cute/charming characters. You get stopped by a mafia man in the middle of your space travel (as Hat Kid) and lose all of your time pieces (the main collectables), so you go down to the different areas, makes new friends (and an enemy) and (hopefully!) get back home at the end.
You also unlock a bunch of different hats with different effects and badges to put on said hats.
